From which country did your pet come to Hong Kong?

Like many countries, Hong Kong also has laws regulating imported animals, so the country your pet is brought back from determines whether your pet needs to be quarantined. When it comes to pet imports, Hong Kong divides countries into three groups.

If you bring cats and dogs back to Hong Kong from Group 1 and Group 2 countries, as long as you comply with all the terms of the Hong Kong import license, the pets do not need to be quarantined upon entry.

If you bring cats and dogs back to Hong Kong from Group 3 countries (other countries/places not included in Group 1 and Group 2 categories), the cats and dogs must undergo quarantine upon entry into Hong Kong. Since there are limited places for pet quarantine in Hong Kong, we recommend that you reserve a quarantine vacancy 15 months in advance.
