The procedures and documents for bringing cats and dogs to Canada
Microchipping: The Canadian government does not require pets to have a microchip. However, we recommend microchipping cats and dogs for identification purposes.
Rabies vaccination and provide the vaccination record
Official health certificate: Arrange a health check for your pet 10 days before export. A veterinarian will issue a health certificate to pets that have completed the health examination. The health certificate will include information of owner, vet, pets’ microchip, vaccination record etc. Then, take the original copy of the health certificate to AFCD for endorsement.
